Small Space Solutions

Solutions for your small space.

Got a small room? Not sure what to do with it? Well, don’t get frustrated just yet. Here are some small space solutions that can make a big impact on your tiny room within your reach that will take little to no construction.

Don’t forget to think vertically.

The area above our heads is valuable to maximize when you’re working with limited floor space. Raising their bed high above their living area opened up wall space for a TV, an additional lounging area, and more room for necessary table surfaces, an extension of your work from home office set-up. Tiny home office? Choose a desk that folds down from the wall and, when tucked away, becomes a nice set of cabinets/drawers.

Make every surface count.

When you’re living in tight quarters, it’s important to make room for the little things that make you happy: plants, pictures, tiny details, and a mural wall. Who doesn’t love the idea that many consider an eyesore an opportunity to display their creativity?

Give a new meaning to room furniture.

Not something you can whip up on a whim, but with planning, elbow grease, and some tools and supplies, you can create a genius under-bed storage solution. Storage is a must in any room. When it comes to your storage solutions, work smarter, not harder. If you’ve got the budget to build in some recessed storage like knee drawers, bookcases, or a window seat complete with storage underneath the bench, then take advantage of this smaller scale remodel. Find a loft bed set-up that houses a desk and some drawer space for clothing underneath.

Let the natural light in.

Keep window treatments to a minimum in a small space to make the most of the natural light. For your privacy, add plain roller blinds or hang flat panels of lace.

Trick the eye with huge mirrors.

Creating the illusion of space with mirrors is a classic trick that works every time. Perfect for smaller bedrooms, a mirrored wall will visually double the space.

Convert your headboard.

Using a headboard for storage is a clever way to make the most of your space. This custom solution manages to be a bedside table and bookcase, as well as a headboard, and could easily be built to hold a rail and shelves on the opposite side for clothes.

You don’t have to succumb to absolute minimalism, but carefully curate an aesthetic that is both an extension of your personality and not too cluttered. If you’ve got a vanity, desk, or other counter space, contain the smaller objects you need access to with trays, bins, and baskets. They keep the space looking cleaner and provide an intentional space for small items like lipstick, pens, or utensils to be kept.
